The Dubliner Mountain Thunder is an annual motorcycle street race held in the town centre of Methven every Easter Saturday. Racers from across New Zealand travel at speeds up to 200kmph race around a tight 1km circuit, completing laps in 32 – 34 seconds.
The event is hosted by the Methven Lions Club who join with Classic Action Motorcycle Sport (CAMS) from Christchurch to stage the event. All profits made from the event go back into the local community.
The Dubliner Mountain Thunder 2017 will be roaring through the town centre of Methven on Easter Saturday 15th April 2017.
Easter Saturday is a fun filled day for all ages. Spectators can get up close, feel the noise, taste the speed and all from behind the safety of bales and security fencing. The streets are bursting with colour, spectacle, noise and excitement.
